At 4000? It looks great! I render at 10,000 quality. If I know I will have it printed I will make it higher.

just re-rendered this at 12,000/7k...nearly identical; lightened slightly (this is the original version 6k/500; didn't post the 8k/4000 version)
thanx again!, S. :floating:

haven't sold any prints on dA yet; these prints are sort of a quality test for dA prints ( some of mine, some from other folks...)

So there really wasn't a big difference?
Maybe it's the variation you are using. I know some variations cause the flame to render slower.

I sold one print and made $2.60 ... :faint:

I haven't really tried to sell prints. I don't submit anything to the clubs either, so I don't get exposure except from my watchers. I used to submit them to the clubs, but it is a pain in the neck sometimes.

I started making fractals in March of 2007. I made them just for me, and I still do. I tire of my wallpapers quickly and couldn't find any new stuff anymore. LOL I submit images to dA because I like them and am proud of them. I really don't care whether people like them or not, but I have to say it is nice! LOL Now my wallpapers change by the hour ... :)

dA has lots of issues. I can live with most of them, but I do hate when I upload a fractal and it looks like garbage.

I like your site! You have some beautiful fractals. I like the ties best I think. They look wonderful, my husband would have worn any of them ... :)

not on this one; surprising! I seem to render at a larger pixel size than most folks here w/o downsizing for screen (long uploads...); this in effect oversamples the image...the screen image is secondary to me, I render for large prints; have to compromise for dA tho, damn 80mb upload limit (don't like to have to convert to .jpg to get size down; lossy); have uploaded 185mb .png's to Zazzle; sold several large prints there (up there about a month longer than dA);they do great prints, about 25% less expensive...[link]

have noticed great inconsistancies with quality of screen image that dA generates from a large file; sometimes crap from a crisp render...see -[link]
'Desire'
can't imagine why they have title restrictions here...dumb!

I try to render everything for up to(or beyond)30x40", downsizing sharpens it; use these for other prods at Zazzle, etc. Easy to drop the size...

If YOU aren't selling prints, that worries me...
kinda surprised that more folks don't order their own out of curiosity...fractals should be huge (most); the only way to adequately take in alot of those fabulous involved details...
wall art! have you ever seen a nice fract printed wide format on backlight film and backlit? Wow! Size; details; crispness; transmitted light (like monitor)...the way they should be! Have spent the last 10yrs. figuring out printer/ink/papers/processing combinations to print my own (as premium photo quality prints) for Serious Fun Studios

Serious Fun Studios - fractal art images & products (haven't updated in months;dA is addicting!)(but the demand has to be there to justify...)

t-shirts can be really cool with the right fract and processing; 'Kikunohana' would be so cool...
